Back by popular demand, the OCC is very excited to offer its members an opportunity to hone their studio photography skills.
To ensure that members get the best opportunity to shoot, participation will be limited to 18 participants. Workshop participants will be broken into three groups and will rotate through three stations.
Station 1 : Light Painting : Led by Rafal Kiermacz
Learn about Light Painting photography in a small group environment. You will be photographing amazing models by using very long exposures in a dark studio setting. We will be combining studio strobes as well as continuos light sources to create some very interesting portraits.
You will need to bring your tripod and your camera. You will also need a lens that can manually focus. Recommended focal length is 24-80mm. Optionally you may also bring any funky light sources you may have like interesting Christmas lights or unusual glow sticks or flashlights.
Station 2 : Speedlight / Natural Light Photography : Led by Kevin Chan
Weather permitting this session may take our members outdoors. Learn about portrait photography outdoors lit with natural light and speedlights. The focus will be working with the ambient light and outdoor locations to make interesting portraits. If the weather is poor, we will be working with some natural indoor light and learning how to adapt our lights in different situations. We will be working with multiple lights, soft boxes, grids, and gels.
Station 3: Small Product Photography : Led by Mike Weber
Shooting in the studio is not just about taking pictures of people. This station will introduct participans to small product and/or still life photography.
