Dynamic balance is about the visual weight of all the elements in the frame, and the tension between them.Negative space creates dynamic balance. It creates a counterbalance between the subject and the more spacious area(s) in the frame. As a result, the subject has high visual weight, and the negative space has low visual weight, providing dynamic balance between both elements.The subject attracts attention even though it takes up less space in the frame and it’s counterbalanced by the more expansive negative space. Negative space is not merely an absence of something; it’s an active and integral part of the dynamic composition through its simplicity and is a strong component of visual storytelling through its simple and powerful design.
